Kingdom Development's

Foundational Scripture

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Matthew 7:24-27

Statement of Faith

Values

Our Statement of Faith, like all doctrine and theology, is a declaration of truths about “The Truth”. It is an attempt to give us structure for understanding who God is, who we are, and what we are called to do, according to the Word of God (God’s living and true words).

  1. We believe in One God who exists as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit: God as Father, Jesus as Son, and the Holy Spirit are in complete unity. All have a part in creation and are vital to the salvation of that creation with specific functions within this God-head. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 1:1)

  2. We believe in God the Father: We believe God the Father exists eternally as the Creator of heaven, earth, and the law (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 15:28).

  3. We believe in Jesus Christ: We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, very God of very God, truly God, truly Man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and now reigns in glory until all things are put under His feet. (1 Timothy 3:16)

  4. We believe in the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in all believers, confirming their salvation and conforming them into the image of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Romans 8:16-17)

  5. We believe that the gospel is the full message of salvation: The gospel is the good news that announces the forgiveness of sin, restoration to the Father and the promise of eternal life are available through repentance and faith in Jesus. This faith brings us into new life and the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3-7; Acts 16:31, 26:17-20; Romans 1:16, 10:8-10, Titus 3:5-7)

  6. We believe in the Sanctity of Human Life: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Therefore, life is to be protected, honored and built up  so that the image of God might be better reflected in His creation. (Genesis 1:27; Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 8)

  7. We believe in Sanctification: We believe that those who are called by the name of Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit and time spent with God – a process of becoming more like Jesus in character, words, and action will occur. (2 Timothy 2:9)

  8. We believe in equipping the Saints for good Works: We believe that God has created, saved, redeemed His people so that we can work to accomplish the will of God. Doing good works, in this life, to bring about honor to our God, knowledge of His Kingdom, and message of salvation among the nations. (Ephesians 2:8-10; James 2:17; Matthew 28:18-20)

  9. We believe in the Unity of the Church: We believe that the body of Christ is manifest on earth as the church. As such, the church is made up of people from all nations, tongues, and tribes. His church is to be united under Christ, as our head, by being the means through which the good news is proclaimed to the world. (Ephesians 4:1-6; 2 Corinthians 13:11; John 17:23; Colossians 1:18)

Faith Commitment

The verses in Matthew 7:24-27 gives us a clear objective as to what Kingdom Development is trying to accomplish. These verses teach that life will be difficult. Troubles will come. But the person who has a solid foundation, built on obedience to the words of Jesus, will be able to continue standing and be a place of shelter for others in distress.

  • Kingdom Development promotes and expects a commitment to Christ’s moral and ethical system of holy integrity instead of conforming to the world’s system. How and why we care for the disadvantaged matters to God.

  • Kingdom Development asserts that our success as an institution is determinant on a God-centered, God-oriented mind. Success is measured not by worldly standards, but godly ones.

  • Kingdom Development sees a pure, undefiled, and unstained life as paramount to one’s ability to powerfully minister to and serve those God has set in our path to share the gospel with, equip, and build up to be agents of change in their culture.
