Training Christ-exalting Leaders to Impact Every Sphere of Influence

Hear Kimsrean's Story: From Buddha to Jesus

Kimsrean grew up in the countryside, where her parents work in the fields to provide a small life for their family.  After high school, persuaded by her brother, she moved to Phnom Penh to further her education. It's at that time she began to live in a Kingdom Development dorm. Kimsrean grew up Buddhist, but was introduced to Jesus through Kingdom Development, and had a life-changing encounter through a dream that brought her to surrender.

Watch her powerful story below...

God is expanding the Body of Christ in local communities and across the globe.

Through ministries and churches like The Pillar Network, the Body of Christ is fulfilling the Great Commission. As you can see from Kimsrean's story, God is moving in this next generation so they can impact a nation.

God Brings a Harvest

There has been an abundant harvest like never before in Cambodia. Young people are coming to know Jesus in a culture that has long been immersed in traditional Buddhism and in recent years impacted by Islam.

Isn’t it amazing to see how God can break through generations of false religion to bring forth new life, reaching the poorest communities with a long history of oppression?

It is deeply encouraging to witness God change a heart from one that was blind to one that can see and is free in Jesus. I know you’ve witnessed something similar in your Kingdom efforts as you invest in the local community as well as connect, coach, and strengthen churches around the world.

Did You Know...?

Did you know that approximately 97% of Cambodia’s population practices some form of Buddhism? This means that nearly every person either grew up in a family that practices Buddhism and is carrying on the traditional practice or has been dramatically influenced by this culture and wants to break free but isn’t sure how.

This is where Kingdom Development comes in. We help young people in Cambodia by...

  • Providing for their physical needs - through the dormitories we provide a place where students know their basic physical needs (like housing, food, and safety) is provided. It is in this type of environment students are freed to focus on education, personal growth, and most importantly develop a relationship with Christ.

  • Provide discipleship, mentorship, and educational support - there is a deep desire among the youth of Cambodia to see change take place in their nation. But rising above the poverty mindset and deep cultural wounds of their parents takes intentional investment and training to put them on a path towards Christ-exalting leadership. We provide daily discipleship (Bible studies, worship, and 1 on 1 meetings), weekly mentorship and leadership development time, as well as training and careful guidance as they navigate university life in the context of their culture.

  • Providing Christian books and training materials in the local language - There is a deep need for this next generation of believers to be equipped with excellent Christians books and training materials. Part of our structure involves developing or translating new materials to be passed out not only in our context with university students, but books and materials that are available to every church and province in the country.

As a result, relationships have been formed with this younger generation, and many have come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Savior!

Though 97% of the population in Cambodia is Buddhist, 94% of those who enter Kingdom Development dorms, become followers of Jesus. There is something powerful that happens when people share life deeply with other followers of Christ - they meet Jesus.

Anytime my family and I get overwhelmed by the day-to-day ministry work, God graciously reminds us of the people He is drawing to Himself and how He is changing the culture, one life at a time.

Why Kingdom Development Works

Why do so many receive Jesus through the Kingdom Development leadership program?

Because we do life with these young people for several years. We study God’s Word, celebrate events, fellowship and worship, and train them to become Christ-exalting leaders. Through the hours, days, weeks, months, and years of doing life together, the seeds planted in their hearts grow and flourish.

We plant the seeds, the partners, donors, and prayer partners provide the water, and God brings the increase.

The Need

We are a disciple-making ministry that works directly with young people in Cambodia who have the potential to be Christ-exalting leaders, radically changing the face of the nation through adequate training.

We need more like-minded churches who long to see the next generation equipped and are invested in seeing God’s Kingdom expanded to partner with us in support and prayer.

Be a part of how God is moving in this area of the world. I know these life changing stories would bless you, and I want to hear how I can partner with your Kingdom efforts too!
