World Team’s Global Mission

World Team is a global missions organization committed to seeing thriving churches established among the least-reached peoples of the world. Teams serve holistically, proclaiming the gospel, discipling believers, and equipping local leaders to multiply their impact.

Their approach is rooted in long-term presence and partnership. World Team invests in people and communities around the world, working alongside local believers to see sustainable, reproducing churches planted.

We Value

In Cambodia, this vision takes shape through a network of ministries across different provinces focused on raising up the believers who will influence their families, communities, and churches for God’s Kingdom.

One of the key ministries for World Team in Phnom Penh is the University Dorm Ministry, which exists to invest deeply in the next generation of the Cambodian church by creating a place where education and discipleship are intentionally woven together.

Our vision is clear: to glorify God by working together to invest in and equip the next generation of the Cambodian church. This vision is rooted in the belief that lasting gospel impact in Cambodia will come through young men and women who are grounded in Scripture, shaped in Christian community, and prepared to lead with both conviction and humility.

This ministry aims to serve students who have come from provinces across the country to pursue higher education. For many, this opportunity would not be possible without a safe place to live and a supportive environment to help them navigate life in the city. The dorm provides more than housing, it provides a spiritual home.

Our mission is lived out daily: through Christ-centered community, intentional discipleship, and shared life together, we help students grow as followers of Jesus who live out His teachings and share the transforming truth of the Gospel with others.

Life in the dorm is designed to be formative. Students are discipled through regular times in God’s Word, mentorship from mature believers, and the rhythms of living in close Christian community. They are encouraged to actively participate in the local church, develop spiritual disciplines, and grow in character and leadership. At the same time, they are supported in their academic pursuits, recognizing that education is a key avenue through which they can serve both the church and society.

This integrated approach—combining education, discipleship, and community; aims to shape not just what students know, but who they become.

The long-term vision is multiplication. As students graduate, the hope is that they will be sent out as faithful followers of Christ returning to their communities, engaging in their professions, strengthening local churches, and making disciples. In this way, the dorm becomes a launching point for a generation of leaders who will carry the gospel forward throughout Cambodia.

The World Team Cambodia University Dorm Ministry is not simply meeting present needs; it is investing in a future where the Cambodian church is led and sustained by men and women who have been deeply formed in Christ.

How We Partner

Our partnership with the World Team Dorm Ministry is built on a shared vision to see the next generation of the Cambodian church equipped through education, discipleship, and Christ-centered community. We do not seek to lead this work from a distance, but to come alongside and strengthen what God is already doing through their faithful, on-the-ground leadership.

First, we partner through financial support. By helping raise and steward resources, we work to ensure that the dorm can continue providing a safe, stable, and gospel-centered environment for students pursuing their education. These resources directly support housing, discipleship efforts, and the ongoing development of the ministry so that more students can be reached and invested in.

Second, we partner through encouragement and relationship. Ministry leadership can often be both spiritually demanding and isolating, so we intentionally walk alongside the leaders of the dorm—praying with them, encouraging them, and reminding them that they are not alone in the work. We value deep, trust-filled relationships that strengthen and sustain long-term ministry.

Third, we provide oversight when needed, offering support, accountability, and perspective in a way that honors local leadership while helping ensure the health and longevity of the ministry. This is not about control, but about faithful stewardship and mutual partnership in the gospel.

Together, this partnership allows each role to complement the other. Local leaders remain at the center of the work, while we help provide the support structure needed for the ministry to grow and thrive. Our shared desire is to see students not only succeed in their education, but be formed into faithful followers of Christ who will go on to strengthen the church and impact Cambodia for generations to come.

Stay up to date with all that's going on in and through Kingdom Development
