Seeking the Kingdom

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness..." Matthew 6:33

To set our hearts on the Kingdom of God means to make the life of the Spirit with

in and among us the center of all we think, say, and do. These words from Christ and their application have been central to our mission here in Cambodia.

In this past year, we have mentored, discipled, and trained young men and women to practically seek God in their personal, professional, and community lives. We have worked hard to build up the community that God has entrusted to us, both inside and outside of our dormitories.

We have preached Christ to the poor and outcast. We have provided for their physical and spiritual needs. We have supported the training and higher education of students that could not have it otherwise. And we have translated godly resources and put them into the hands of the young and developing church here in Cambodia.

We have done this: you and us. We have joined together to put the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first in this ministry, and we are beginning to see great fruit from it.

There are those who go and those who stay. There are those who have resources and those who don't. There are prayer warriors. There are gospel teachers. There are worship leaders.

Individually we are limited in what we can do. But Christ created His people to be one church working together to see His mission done... together! And together, by the grace and empowerment of God, we have done great things here. But the work is not finished. There is more to do.

In Matthew 9:35-38 Jesus is doing the work of proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God to all. Many people are coming to Him to receive healing and hear Him teach. But when He looks at the crowd, the scripture says "He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." Then he looks to His disciples and says, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore pray earnestly to the Lord to send out laborers into the harvest."

Together, we are a part of the answer to this prayer. We are working in the fields. Some of us will go, some of us will support financially, some in prayer, and others in various different ways.

But together we labor and together we celebrate what the Lord of the Harvest is doing here in Cambodia.

New Fields

As we step into this new year we are also stepping into a new season of ministry. Not that our mission/vision is changing but many opportunities to be more effective and expand the reach of the ministry have come.

In this year our plan is to:

  • implement student development training program

  • raise $800 in monthly support for housing rent

  • raise $250,000 to build dormitories and a community training center

  • Begin programs on our land to develop community connections.

God has given us a mission, and we are confident that together we can complete Christ's work.

This is what we're working for and how you can help

  • Less than 2% of the population is Christian.

  • The uneducated make between $2-4 a day.

  • Corruption is experienced at every level of government and law enforcement.

  • 43% of the population is between the ages of 15-25.

The opportunity for those stats to change are here and by God's leading we have a plan to create a space where deep Christ-exalting lasting change can take place.

God is central to this partnership we have together. My family and I are sent to be the boots on the ground, but you are who God is using to send us.

Need #1 - $800 increase in monthly support to cover the land cost.

This might seem like a difficult amount to reach, but with as little as a 5% increase in monthly giving from each person who currently gives, we can reach this goal.

Need #2 - Support team in the US.

As our ministry continues to grow one of our biggest needs is to develop a team in the US that is willing to work with us to raise awareness about the mission, help us mail out updates, and organize events.

Need #3 - Raise money to build the dormitory and community training center.

In order to move forward on the project we need to raise $250,000 in one time donations. The moment we receive this amount we are ready to begin building.

Please pray for those needs to be met as we continue to move into this new season of ministry. Please also ask God if you can be a part of the answer to those needs.

To God be the glory!
