Health Conference: Building a better tomorrow

Growing up in the West there are several things we take for granted concerning the rest of the world. For example, as early as I can remember my parents taught me I need to drink lots of water, eat my fruits and vegetables, stay away from fried food, and make sure that I'm getting enough sleep so that my body can work to its fullest potential.

It is easy to assume this general knowledge is well known all over the world. But in countries like Cambodia, where the day to day struggle to survive is the constant, basic health information is not known or passed on from generation to generation.

I cannot tell you how many times a student has come to me to complain that they are dizzy, have no energy, and have a headache. I ask them if they have drank water at all that day - the response is usually the same, "no."

As people who are investing in the next generation of leaders, we want them to understand that God has given them everything they need to live a good, strong, and healthy life. To that end we are so happy to have found an amazing NGO ministry called "CSI Cambodia." They are a group of health professionals from the US who work with local Cambodians to teach basic and advanced health information to the nation.

This past weekend we organized 2 trainings with CSI.

Training 1 - 6 Needs for a Healthy Life

Training 2 - 5 Steps to Make Your Food Safe

The training was engaging and impactful and the students walked away excited and better equipped to live the kind of life God has called them to.

Here are some of the pictures from the event.

Thank you for your partnership in helping to train, disciple, and mentor the next generation of leaders to be Christ-exalting in all areas of their life.

To God be the glory!
