Student Highlight: Layvin Chea

Future Private School Owner

This week we are highlighting Layvin Chae.

She is a faithful follower of Christ who is one of the hardest working young people we've ever met in our lives. Not only is she one of the leaders for our girls' dormitory, one of our ministry translators who has helped us translate 3 different books, she is also working towards her masters in Educational Administration with the hope of opening her own private school one day.

And yet if you take the time to talk to her about what she will do with the school, all you can do is sit back and listen in awe as she explains her heart for the children of her community to not only get a better education, but to meet Jesus through her school. She is currently working as a Teacher's Assistant at Logos International School (the same school Elizabeth teaches at). She is working at the school to gain experience as a teacher while at the same time going to school working towards her masters degree. After graduation, her plan is to work for a few years more in an administration role while she saves money to start her own school back at her village.

Layvin is passionate about education and

passionate about Jesus being made known all over Cambodia. Both of those passions fuel the future God is helping her create. She exemplifies why we are here in Cambodia. Her dream is bigger than herself. It is a God sized dream that aims to not only improve her future but to help the nation come to know, love, and obey the God of heaven and earth.
