We Want Your Help

The Need

Let’s begin by reviewing some facts about Cambodia from the past update:

• Less than 2% of the population is Christian

• The uneducated make between $2-4 a day

• Starting salaries for college graduates are between $300-400 a month

• Corruption is experienced at every level of the government and law enforcement

• The current government is beginning to put barriers in the way of Christian influence in the country.

• 43% of the population is 15-25 years old.

The Solution

These facts bring us to a clear conclusion; deep and lasting change is desperately needed. The next generation that will come into power is poised to make that change if they are invested in well. As I mentioned in the last update, we believe the best way to help bring about this investment is by building a community training center that will become the heart of our community and a place where college-age students are discipled, mentored, and trained.

How can we accomplish this work?

Ministry works best in a Christ-exalting community working together. To see this building project become a reality, we want and need your partnership.

1. Prayer Partnership The most important thing you can do to partner with us in this project is to pray regularly and intentionally. Each week we have a time of worship and prayer with our students. At the end of each meeting, we pray the Lord’s prayer. Every single time I pray it, I am always struck by what I am praying. We pray for the Kingdom of God to come and for His will to be done – on this earth in the same way it is in heaven. Heaven on earth -- a place where God’s glory is seen, His presence is experienced, freedom is given, and truth is proclaimed. This is what we pray will happen and we are convinced that if people will join us in the work of praying regularly and intentionally, God will give us wisdom to build and develop a place where heaven on earth is experienced by people who need to know His love. To that end, we are starting a monthly prayer update that will be sent out by email and in a “Prayer for the Becks” Facebook group page.

2. Ambassadors

While prayer is foundational, having people who believe in the vision and are willing to speak about it, help us raise support for it, and be our ambassadors in the U.S. and Korea is vital to seeing this project completed. We have been praying the past few months that there would be people who are pulled by God to step out of their comfort zone and help us make new connections and relationships with people, churches, and organizations who share a similar vision to make disciples in all nations. We believe it is through these future partnerships that God is going to help the ministry expand in far reaching ways.

If you have wanted to help the ministry but were unsure how to get involved, this is a great place to begin. We are committed to walking beside our ambassadors and helping them make necessary connections. Truly, there many ways to partner with us in this effort and we are thrilled to see how God will help your faith to grow during this process. Please prayerfully consider if being a representative of our ministry and speaking to others on our behalf is something God wants you to do.

3. Financial Partners

We have total faith in God to provide in His time and His way and we are eager to see God glorified through the process of fundraising. After completing the first phase of the concept design with our engineering partners, the expected budget to build the community training center is between $400,000 - $450,000. When first seeing these numbers, it may feel like an incredibly difficult task. But in comparison to the God we serve, these numbers are miniscule. He can and will provide for the work He wants to see done.

• Come to one of our in-person meetings in the U.S. during the summer (we’ll update the exact dates and locations soon).

• Message us. We love to hear from you and love to share the story of what God is doing.

In summary

We need your partnership in this next stage of ministry.

1. God might be leading some of you to commit to praying for people to rise up and provide for the spiritual and physical needs to see this vision completed.

2. God may lead some of you to increase your financial support or give a one-time donation to the building fund.

3. He might be asking some of you to become ministry ambassadors and help us make connections with people, churches, or other organizations.

If God has put our ministry on your heart, then please take time to ask Him if there is a specific way that He wants you to partner with us further.

Our prayer is that as you read this update, you don’t feel any pressure from us. We are deeply thankful for all that our ministry partners have done and continue to do, and we pray that you see this next phase of ministry as an opportunity to grow deeper in your faith and, moreover, an opportunity to help make disciples in all nations and be the starting point of foundational change in Cambodia.
